About Hull Psychological Services

Hull Psychological Services (HPS) is Hull’s only fee-for-service program accessible by the public.  We specialize in providing:

  1. Therapy and treatment for families struggling with their adolescent’s drug and/or alcohol abuse based upon the evidence-based model Multidimensional Family Therapy (MDFT).
  2. Family therapy to address a variety of issues including, but not limited to:
    1. parent-child conflict;
    2. communication difficulties;
    3. separation/divorce.
  3. Individual counselling for kids and their families to cope with:
    1. depression;
    2. anxiety;
    3. stress;
    4. school issues such as bullying, academic underachievement, and other behavioural issues.
  4. Clinical consultation, psychological and educational assessments for children, teenagers, and young adults. (see Psycho-educational Assessment and Clinical Consultation.)


HPS programs are self-referral, meaning that you can access these on your own without another health care professional's involvement.

Once you contact the Program Coordinator, he will ask for some brief background information in order to better match you with the appropriate service. Evening appointments are available.

HPS operates from the Shaw Centre for Mental Health and Addictions located at Hull Services main campus, 2266 Woodpark Avenue S.W., Calgary.

Pricing for Services

Pricing for HPS, MDFT, individual counselling, and clinical assessment and consultation services are based on recommended fee schedules provided by the Psychologists' Association of Alberta.

Reimbursement for fees paide may be possible through your company's health and wellness benefits, or employee assistant programs.
