These words may create an image in your mind: a small, scared little girl, clutching her beloved dog, anxiously hoping and imagining being back in a place where she feels safe and loved.

Most of us understand feeling lost, lonely, and scared. We’ve all been there, just wishing to be ‘home’ again, in the place where security and comfort surround us.

For the kids and youth who live at Hull Child and Family Services, feelings of fear, confusion, and loneliness are too recent and not easily forgotten. These kids come to us from unsafe homes, living on the streets and from situations where ‘comfort’ is foreign. For them, Hull is home

We seek to create a safe and stable environment where these kids feel accepted, encouraged, secure, and engulfed in warmth. Meeting their basic needs allows them to develop self-worth, life-skills, and confidence to grow up and out of the turmoil that brought them to Hull.

To accomplish this, we need to raise approximately $125,000 for over 40 improvements to our residences including: roof repairs, kitchen appliances and new furniture.

These buildings serve as temporary or long-term homes for kids during their time here and require renovations and upgrades due to age, wear and tear, and lack of funding. These changes are critical to help our kids feel at home, remind them that they are worthy and, that someone cares about them.
