New Roads

New Roads is an early intervention program that works with parent/caregiver(s) and their children between the ages of 7-11 years old who are at risk of or are already engaging in offending or dangerous behaviours.

These behaviours may include lying, stealing, difficulties with authority, difficulty with regulating emotions (anger, aggression, anxiety), struggles with peers and ongoing noncompliance at home, school or in the community.

Our program is voluntary and self-referral is required. Families may receive program information from a number of sources including Calgary Police Service, school, after-school care, Access Mental Health or Child Welfare but the family must call in themselves to register.

New Roads staff engage with children and their parent/caregiver(s) to identify the issues that are bringing them to the New Roads program. Together, the staff and family develop goal areas of focus for the child and the parents to work on while attending the program.

We believe that change is possible through compassion, belonging, and education.
