Fostering Connections
Contact Us
Fostering Connections provides children, referred by the Calgary and Area Child and Family Services Authority, with a surrogate family, when they are unable to reside at home.
Our program supports the return of children to their families, or, when this is not possible, works together with the child's team to help them achieve permanence.
Fostering Connections provides specialized training to foster parents and ongoing support to foster families to ensure children receive the best care.
We believe that all children benefit from meaningful connections and a safe, nurturing place in which to grow.
"My foster parent looks out for me, and helps me when I need it."
"I feel like part of the family."

If you or anyone you know is interested in becoming a foster parent or would like more information, please contact us.
Fostering Connections provides foster care services to children from birth to
18 years of age. We serve children from a variety of backgrounds, abilities and needs. For those children who come from more intensive treatment settings, we provide additional support to help them reconnect with their community.
We work closely with the child's team to help them reach their goals:
- help children manage the transitions associated with a change in placement
- provide a safe, supportive environment to help children learn new skills and meet developmental milestones
- advocate for their needs
- work collaboratively with foster parents, the child's team and support network
- provide opportunities for children to connect with their family, culture and community and to participate in activities of interest to them
- support each child's permanency plan
We provide foster families with access to Hull services including:
- after hours support
- Aboriginal ceremonies and resource people
- day camps
- mentors
- respite care
- access to Agency and community events
- access to Agency donations
Our foster parents are diverse in their backgrounds and experiences. We match children with foster homes that support their familial, cultural and religious connections and activities of their choosing, while exposing them to positive new experiences.
Fostering Connections offers quality training and professional development to foster parents to help them meet the needs of the children placed in their care.
Program staff meet regularly with foster parents and children and our on call support services operate 24 hours daily because families do too!
