Hull offers a comprehensive employer paid benefits package to its employees.
Full and part time employees who work at least 20 hours per week may enroll in the benefits plan.
Our current provider is Sun Life of Canada. Hull pays 100% of the plan for full time employees and 50% of the plan for part time employees.
Extended Medical Care Coverage
Extended health care coverage pays for eligible services or supplies for you that are medically necessary for the treatment of an illness. Coverage includes hospital care expenses and prescription drugs.
Emergency Travel Assistance
If you are faced with medical emergency when traveling outside of the province or country where you live, Worldwide Assistance Services Inc. will help.
Dental Care
Dental Care coverage pays for eligible expenses that you incur for dental procedures provided by a licensed dentist, denturist, dental hygienist and anesthetist.
Life Insurance Coverage
Your life coverage provides a benefit for your beneficiary if you pass away while covered.
Employee Assistance Program
This benefit is insured by Warren Shepell Consultants Corp and provides you and your dependents with access to confidential counseling and information services.
Health Spending Account
A Health Spending Account works like an expense account. The Agency allocates plan credits to the account. Credits may be used to cover eligible expenses not covered under the extended medical or dental areas. Credits can only be used to provide reimbursement for eligible expenses under the Income Tax Act. The definition of eligible expenses is quite wide.
Vacation
All qualifying employees begin accruing 15 days of vacation per year for the first two years of employment. From the third year of employment forward, employees earn one subsequent day of vacation until the maximum of 25 days per year is accrued. Length of vacation varies according to the following schedule:
- Under 3 years service - Accrue 15 days vacation/year
- 3rd year of service - Accrue 20 days vacation/ year
- 4th year of service - Accrue 21 days vacation/ year
- 5th year of service - Accrue 22 days vacation/year
- 6th year of service - Accrue 23 days vacation/ year
- 7th year of service - Accrue 24 days vacation/year
- 8th year of service - Accrue 25 days vacation/ year
Savings Plan
The Agency sponsors a Savings Plan for its regular full-time and part-time employees. The purpose of the plan is to provide for short-term and long-term needs through a payroll deduction and to provide for retirement while realizing immediate tax savings for the employee (if enrolled in a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP).

Hull Child and Family Services places great value in education and professional development. We offer a number of programs which help employees build and augment their skill, knowledge and abilities.
Board of Governors Scholarship
The Board of Governors' Scholarship recognizes outstanding contributions to Hull Child and Family Services by providing a financial award to individuals pursuing training or education that enhances the field of services applicable to children, youth, young adults, and families.
Training
Full and part time employees are encouraged to further their training through the extensive training offerings available through the Staff Development and Training Services Department.
